BURGRAIN AGRICULTURAL MUSEUM WINS MEYVAERT PRIZE

The Swiss Agricultural Museum Burgrain is honored with the Meyvaert Museum Award for Environmental Sustainability at the annual conference of the European Museum Forum (EMF). The award ceremony took place on May 6, 2023 at the Historical Museum in Barcelona.

The jury highlighted that “at the Swiss Agricultural Museum, visitors would be engaged with their local community through a variety of fun, hands-on learning activities that illuminate the journey of food from farm to table.” It also praises the museum’s “exceptional commitment to reflecting on and addressing issues of sustainability and environmental impact.”

The Meyvaert Museum Prize is awarded annually to a museum that demonstrates exceptional dedication to issues of sustainability and environmental awareness in its exhibitions, collection, and public programs. It is a special prize within the competition for the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award.
